Trinidad and Tobago is a charming island country in the southern Caribbean, on the northeast of South America. Getting Around Trinidad & Tobago
Piarco International Airport in Port of Spain and Crown Point International Airport in Tobago are two major airports that operate international flights to and from USA, Canada, the UK, South America and other Caribbean Islands. LIAT and Trinidad-based BWIA fly from Trinidad and Tobago to other Caribbean islands. Regular ferry services are available between Port of Spain in Trinidad and Scarborough in Tobago. Cruise ships dock at Queen's Wharf on the southern part of Port of Spain. Buses are popular local transports. Tourist taxis with fixed fares and route taxis with fixed routes and minimal fares are available. Most taxis do not have meters. So the fares should be negotiated in advance. Maxi taxis or the color-coded minibuses travel on the islands along set routes. Cars can be rented from the car rental companies on Trinidad. There are plenty of accommodation facilities on the major cities providing good food, bed and breakfasts. Various resorts set on the islandic landscape also entertain the tourists with good seaside views, water sports facilities and rich marine life. Hilton Resort located on the main road between Crown Point and Scarborough offers golf courses, tennis and restaurants.
