Precaution
Kenya does have its downside as a tourist destination. Rampant corruptions abound in various cities and remote areas of Kenya. Many of the roads are in poor condition and driving can be a disaster. Urban crime is high and internal tribal disturbances and banditry is a threat in some areas of the North. In many places the tourists are cheated with high prices beyond the normal level from park fees to hotel rooms. There is enormous pressure to buy anything and everything, often at ridiculously inflated prices, and even taking a photograph in the local market is likely to incur a cost. But despite this, people are cordial and friendly with helping hands to their foreign buddies. So those in search of a little adventure as well as recreation, Kenya can be an ideal holiday destination.
