The African country of Guinea-Bissau is located in western Africa. The official name of this country is the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and is a small country in continental Africa. Previously it was called Portuguese Guinea, but later the name of its capital city was attached to it. The country covers an area of 36,125 square km with a population of 1,586,000. Guinea-Bissau has a republic form of Government and it is divided into eight regions and one autonomous sector divided into thirty-seven sectors.
