Precautions in Eritrea
The main problem in Eritrea is landmines. In the border regions of Ethiopia and in the western, Southern and Southeastern regions of Barentu these landmines create the major problem. The visitors should avoid traveling along the Agordat-Hawashayt road and in the northern region of Afabet. The Government has closed the Ethiopian border permanently and hence an entrance from that area is not possible. Towards the border area of Sudan, bomb attacks have often created disturbances and hence this border area is also closed sometimes though not permanently. The tourists' who wish to travel outside the capital city of Asmara has to take permission from the government; as a result the travel plans of the visitors may get delayed
